Finishing Choice

CAPTILE C8
Altro C8 Captile is a specially designed ridged PVC profiled section for forming a watertight joint in conjunction with ceramic wall tiles. The Captile Strip C8 is available in 2.50m lengths and various colours and fixed prior to the installation of ceramic wall tiles. All internal and external corners are to be mitred. Always use a mitre box for accuracy.

MASONRY WALLS:
Mark desired height on wall surface. Keep all lines straight and level. Fitting of the C8 captile is achieved by pre drilling pilot holes in the C8 section every 500mm or as required. Fix to walls by using the drill and plug method, in conjunction apply a bead of construction adhesive to the wall prior final fitting.

STUD WALLS:
Mark on wall desired height, keep all lines level. Pre drill pilot holes and nail into studs using 40mm galvanized clouts, in conjunction apply a bead of construction adhesive to wall prior final fitting. The material is the cut and fitted into the channel of the C8. When installed seal all joints and mitres of the Captile C8 with Altromastic 100 polyurethane sealant prior to the fitting of ceramic wall tiles.

C7 CAPPING STRIP
In areas that are not subjected to spillages of water onto the wall surfaces, the tops of the coves are normally fitted with Altro C7 capping strip to the desired height. These are adhered using the approved contact adhesive prior to the installation of the Altro flooring. The material is then cut and fitted into the C7 using a Phillips screwdriver.

ALUMINIUM 'Z' PROFILE
The Aluminium profile is available in 2 sizes and is in 4.3 l/m lengths. Powder coated in various colours, natural anodized or mill finish. To be used in 'wet' type or heavy traffic areas that have no ceramic wall tiles fitted. Complete the installation of the Altro prior to the fitting of the profile.

MASONRY WALLS: Pre drill pilot holes every 500mm or as required and secure using the drill & plug method utilizing screws. Mitre all internal and external corners. Seal the top of the Altro cove with Altromastic 100 prior to the final fitting of the profile.

STUD WALLS: Pre drill pilot holes to correspond with studs then screw into studs using the appropriate screws. Mitre all corners and seal the top of the Altro cove with Altromastic 100 prior to the final fitting of the profile.

METAL TYPE WALLS: Pre drill pilot holes every 500mm or as required to both profile and wall. Mitre all corners, seal the tops of the Altro coves using Altromastic 100 prior final fitting. Pop rivet profile to wall as required.

COVE FORMERS
To enable the self-coving of Altro Safety Flooring it is recommended that a PVC cove former be fitted at the junction of the floor and wall. These are available in various radiuses and install as described elsewhere.
Altro safety flooring can be straight laid in areas that are not subject to excessive water spillage. The material should be fitted neatly to the perimeter walls/ skirting. It is recommended that a bead of Altromastic 100 sealant be applied to the perimeter upon completion.

FEATHEREDGE SKIRTING
Where featheredge skirting is to be used, the Altro safety flooring must be adhered tight to the wall with a 3mm bead of Altromastic 100 sealant applied prior the fitting of the featheredge skirting. Install the skirting as per manufacturers recommendations.

PENCIL COVING
Altro safety flooring may be pencil coved provided that this type of finishing detail is suited to the environment to which it is installed, and complies with all relative health and government regulations.
